Bichectomy: reduction of bichat ball

bichectomy aims to reduce excess fat on the anterior part of the cheek, resulting in a face with a more emaciated and youthful appearance. This surgery helps to diminish the appearance of a round face, and has been increasingly sought after, due to the success it has been doing among international singers and models.

From 15 years of age the face is fully developed allowing the surgery to be performed, however it is very important to evaluate the dentist for a more accurate indication.

the bichat ball is, literally, a ball of fat on the face, responsible for the volume on the most anterior part of the cheeks. Most of the time, it is of normal size, and does not cause any discomfort. However, in overweight people or even thin people, the bichat ball can represent an excess volume, making the cheeks and face less attractive. In these cases, bichectomy is indicated, with the purpose of slimming the cheeks, especially in the more anterior part.
